Recently, EMAN hosted the "2021 EMan Smart Manufacturing System After-Sales Exchange Conference" at the Suzhou Suyuan Hotel. The event featured experienced EMAN product and project directors, along with enterprise application experts, who shared insights on the EMan smart manufacturing system and APS advanced scheduling implementation and application practices. Following the conference, attendees were guided on a tour of a benchmark enterprise’s smart factory to observe real-world applications. The event aimed to assist mold manufacturing enterprises in clarifying their strategies and developing efficient, flexible smart factories from multiple perspectives, including ideas, methods, and practical applications.

1.EMAN's Comprehensive Digital Production Solutions

At the opening of the conference, Lu Fanrong, General Manager of EMAN's Suzhou branch, delivered a welcome address, expressing gratitude to the over forty clients in attendance.

Following this, Cao Tianci, EMAN's Regional Director, presented on EMAN's comprehensive solutions for smart manufacturing management, design, automation, and logistics. He discussed the current industry landscape and pain points, using case studies from typical clients to highlight key application features of the EMan smart manufacturing system. He also detailed the horizontal integration of EMan with multiple systems to create a powerful intelligent workstation.

EMAN's Product Director, Chen Jing, provided a more detailed explanation of the application of the EMan system in connecting with the processing site. He covered its use from CNC, CMM, and EDM processing and inspection levels, elaborating on EMan's application at the shop floor execution level. Their presentations collectively illustrated the path towards developing a flexible smart factory.

 

2.Four-Step Digital Upgrade for Mold Enterprises

 

Project Director Wu Songwen outlined a four-step digital upgrade process for mold enterprises based on their existing management system platforms. These steps are: transitioning to paperless production data, enabling mobile office operations, developing user workstations, and employing visual management boards. He emphasized that APS scheduling must rest on the foundation of "process-guided production." By implementing standard management practices and building a well-structured planning system, enterprises can incrementally enhance their planning methodologies, achieving real-time dynamic scheduling to guide production efficiently and effectively.

During the interactive session, attendees actively contributed suggestions and posed questions. Mr. Wu addressed each scheduling issue and challenge encountered during daily application, providing detailed explanations and solutions.

3.Exploration and Practical Application of Intelligent Mold Production Management

 

Application Insights by Wang Wanneng from Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting

 

Following the strategy and methodology sharing session, Wang Wannen, the Director of Mold Manufacturing at Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting, discussed the practical application of the EMAN Mold Manufacturing Execution System at Xingyu. Starting with the background and blueprint planning for Xingyu’s smart factory, Director Wang explained the phased implementation steps and outcomes. The results have been impressive, with real-time information sharing across levels and the achievement of unattended night shifts, thus enhancing manufacturing efficiency. The blueprint for a smart factory is progressively being realized.

 

4.On-Site Visit to Benchmark Factories

After the sharing sessions concluded, attendees visited benchmark clients, Suzhou Unixin Mold Technology Co., Ltd. and Wujiang Reiter Plastic Mold Co., Ltd. These site visits offered attendees the opportunity to observe real-world applications and engage in in-depth discussions with peers from other companies. The exchanges provided valuable insights into the transformation path of the mold manufacturing industry in the digital age, updates on the smart manufacturing market and applications, and successful practices from leading enterprises, resulting in a wealth of knowledge gained.
